Little Tokyo Is So Chill
While waiting for fave ramen spot to open on
First Street, noticed a fifty-ish woman
crossing mid-block, south to north, against
the light.
She ambled along in a Dodger-blue windbreaker
zipped to the neck, sport shoes, and nothing
else. She was so completely unself-conscious
it took a triple take to check the reality.
She headed west and passed a couple dozen
hungry folk lined up on the sidewalk likewise
waiting for their own faves to open.
Not a single person pointed, jeered, snickered
or made a fuss as she trundled past with a
mien pretty much like any tourist.
WTF is that nice surprise!
