Amazements Everywhere
Got a call at home from my alert credit card
company. They had declined a couple charges,
and wanted to chat.
Fraudsters in their extreme efficiency had
managed to get the card info — not so amazing,
what with all the electronic tracking tricks
nowadays — and then flashed their brilliance:
Someone had tried to buy beauty supplies at a
shop in one of the Carolinas exactly one
minute before the company called me.
And exactly one minute prior to that, a thief had
attempted to rent a car in the state of Chiapas,
Mexico.
With my purloined card, each of them.
And yet with (legitimate) electronic ticket in
hand, the parking lot guy cannot find my car?
WTF is that?

hi katie, enjoying your blogs. been busy with caregiving. guess im at the age when everyone’s parent is dying.
so how did you like the election? i am still in a fetal position. i am astounded by the depth of ignorance in this country, and the arogance of the democratic party. it is going to be a long 4 years. we will lose any freedoms and rights as women gained over the last 50 years. so i guess you know what i am thinking, how about what you ae thinking?
it has been unseasonably warm here. graet for us lowlanders, but we need snow in the mountains. im going to sign off, siane i am in a really ugly mood. xoxo erna
