Nature Walk, L.A. Style
What a great day.
High October eighties, perfect for escaping cement
canyons and stale air for a stroll around the yacht
harbor.
Always interesting to see how the other one percent
lives.
Strong blue skies turning the water its best azure,
masts poking up to make an easy forest that would
give a lumberjack an itch.
Thought it was a dog barking on one of the live-on
boats, but realized it was a seal honking.
A boffo day.
Wait a minute, wait a minute.
With all this perfection, why aren’t these
beauties scudding around on the open water?
These toys get bought and parked and left
to languish unused and underappreciated in
the basin on this exceptional day?
WTF is that?
Tags: Surely one of these shiny baubles
could be traded in for a Bentley. Or four
Mercedes.
Any one of which, I’ll bet, is more likely
to hit fifty knots any given week than these
abandoned babies.
What a waste of natural resources.
