New Eats In The Hood
Popped into the shiny, fresh, airy restaurant that
seems so at odds with the gritty history of the
Arts District. Some call it Cafe Guru.
Two definitely non-hipster women gave their order
to a patient waitperson, who then asked:
Would you like to hear the question of the day?
Sure, said one.
It’s: When do you feel most at peace?
The second woman looked blankly at the waitress and
said: What do I win if I give the right answer?
Server, gathering menus: There is no right answer.
Second woman: Then what’s the point of this game?
Server: There is no game.
Second woman shook her head as server walked away.
In a fuzzy cartoon speaker’s bubble above her head,
one could almost see the words: We should have gone
to the taco truck at Office Depot.
