What Were They Thinking?
When men decided it was gansta to wear knee-
high socks with Nike shower shoes.
When Jack-In-The-Box cast little people
(including bubblehead Jack) in its TV ad to
illustrate its new sandwich is so big it
makes everything look small.
(Didja catch it? Seems to have disappeared,
so maybe this one had a little re-thinking.)
When shamed Shamu exploiters did PR rehab by
announcing captive pools will be enlarged.
(A jail is still a jail at twice the size.)
When some (repeat: some) dog owners in a tony
Arts District neighborhood chose to destroy
with doggie water a newly installed community
greening. Four times.
When public money purchased Segways to roam the
same Arts District as a way to upgrade image.
(Why not just pick up the trash? Or curb the
dogs?)
It’s a crazy sort of tribute to tolerance of
human foibles that instead of going mind-shrieking
crazy, we smile and shrug at most of the above.
WTF is that?
